MAKE FASHION NOT WAR
As a warm-up to Berlin Fashion Week, the North Rhine-Westphalian textile industry presented itself at the NRW office at the Federal Government in Berlin. The event premiered the first PolitFashionNight.
Our host, Armin Laschet, Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia welcomed Prof. Dr. Lutz Vossebein, Dean of Department of Textile and Clothing Technology at University of Applied Sciences Niederrhein, Jenny Bürger, Go Textile blogger, Thomas Lange, Managing Director at GermanFashion Modeverband Germany, Ingeborg Neumann, President Gesamtverband textil+mode, as well as other distinguished guests.
The highlight was the fashion show "Fashion Forward" of Hochschule Niederrhein, Mönchengladbach, which presented the future of textile. In addition to smart textiles and digitalisation, it's all about sustainability. Rethinking the consumer's profile is taking place and it's a good thing! Save energy, extend product's life, recycle old products completely... That's the future we like.
Musically, the program was accompanied by the Carbon String Quartet of the Collegium Musicum of the RWTH Aachen University.
Thank you all for a wonderful evening!
