The Zwickauer Kammgarn Group intends to close all sites by the end of 2025.
Dear employees and valued business partners,
Unfortunately, for business reasons, we have had to make the painful decision to close the Zwickauer Kammgarn Group, including its spinning mills in Germany and the Czech Republic, by the end of 2025 at the latest. This is an extremely distressing decision for us, but after thorough examination of all economic options, it has unfortunately proven unavoidable.
In recent years, production costs – especially for energy and personnel – have risen dramatically. At the same time, due to international competition, it is no longer possible to pass these costs on to our customers. Under the current economic conditions, we no longer see a financially viable future model for our worsted yarn group at its existing locations.
As the leadership team, we carry responsibility – not only for the sites, but above all for the people. That is why we have entered into dialogue with the works council and are now aiming to find a fair solution for all parties through a social compensation plan and reconciliation of interests. Unfortunately, operational layoffs will not be avoidable – of course, with full consideration of all individual notice periods.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all employees for their years of loyalty, tireless commitment, and personal support – especially during challenging times. The current economic developments once again highlight how tough location-based competition has become for the textile industry – despite all innovation and investments in efficiency and sustainability.
We wish all our employees the very best for the future and would like to once again sincerely thank you for the work we have shared.
